Trump Says, U.S And U.K Have Great Bonds

On Friday, 27th January, 2017, President Donald Trump said that, U.S. and U.K. share one of the great bonds. After Trump emerged from his first meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May, he pledged that, America’s lasting support to U.S. historic special relationship with Britain.

The meeting gave the two a chance to build a relationship, and announced that Trump had accepted an invitation from Queen Elizabeth II , for a state visit later this year with his wife, first lady Melania Trump, May said.

Standing alongside May in the ornate White House East Room, Trump said, ”I am honored to have the prime minister here for our official visit from a foreign leader. This is our first visit so, great honor.”

While his speech, Trump also added that, United States and United Kingdom have ”one of the great bonds.”

During brief opening remarks, Trump said, “We pledge our lasting support to this most special relationship. Together, America and United Kingdom are a beacon for prosperity and the rule of law.”

Events in Bay Area Tied to Trump Inaguration

For inviting her to visit so soon after his inauguration, last Friday, May thanked Trump, and said, their meeting was an indication of the strength and the importance of maintaining good relations between the trans-Atlantic allies. There was “much on which we agree,” May said.

May said, “Today’s talks, I think, are a significant moment for President Trump and I to build our relationship”
