North Georgia Basket ball stand-out died in a car-crash

University is mourning with loss of an efficient teammate. Sophomore stand-out Ross Morkem died in a car accident on GA-400 in Dawson County on last Monday.

He was the only one in the car and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. He was known for his energy and passion on the Court. He was a promising forward for the university. Off the court also he was having an infectious smile.

His mother Maria Morkem, “His dream was to finish college and be a coach.”

For his family it’s really hard to talk about this accident right now, rather they want to focus on their son’s legacy by giving a scholarship on his name. A GoFundMe account was set up in his name the entire amount collected will go to his scholarship fund.

His parents said that they’re hoping that they can put something together to provide an opportunity for one kid at least. This will be a legacy of a young man who loved his community, family and basketball.
