BJP Leading All Over as Counting Begins in Karnataka Assembly Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has established initial lead by gaining maximal seats over its contenders Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) in Karnataka assembly elections held on May 12.

The BJP is racing ahead with 107 seats, Congress with 72 seats, Janata Dal (S) is gaining in comparison to 2013, with 41 seats and others with 2 seats.

The elections were held in 222 constituencies as two other constituencies of Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Jayanagar were postponed due to a voter ID scandal and death of BJP MLA, B N Vijaykumar.

* Malleswaram West, Bengaluru, Karnataka sees a BJP lead with a candidate C.N. Ashwath Narayan with 13,712 votes.

* Pulakeshinagar sees a Congress lead with a candidate Akhanda Sreenivasamurthy with 5,981 votes.

* S. Raghu of BJP is leading with 9,824 votes at C.V.Raman Nagar.

* In Shivamogga constituency, Former Deputy Chief Minister and Leader of opposition in Karnataka Assembly K.S. Eshwarappa of BJP is leading with 11,425 votes.

* In Hyderabad Karnataka, Yadgir constituency of BJP is in lead with 4,416 votes.

* Sreeramulu of BJP is leading in Badami with about 300 votes.

* Yeddurappa, Former Chief Minister and BJP state President is seen leading in Shikaripura constituency with 9,816 votes so far.
