The top seeded Andy Murray has won the first clay-court title of his career by winning against Kohlschreiber on Monday at BMW Open in Munich with 7-6 (4), 5-7, 7-6 (4), where the match was first delayed due to rain. Interestingly, his earning has given new hope to British players as the last clay title had won by Buster Mottram in 1976.

Murray has been not showing his fullest strength in recent games; his last title was six months ago. He has never reached the finals in clay event before this.

Murray acceded to tournament tradition by wearing a pair of brown lederhosen, the player was presented BMW i8 electric supercar and 59,000 pounds prize.
