Story
A ten year old girl kali (Anshika Srivastava) is kidnapped and story revolves around this concept and the consequences of human beings’ temporary high and pleasure. Rahul Bhatt, an unsuccessful father, husband and movie actor and Tejaswini Kolhapure, a battered wife are father and mother of this kidnapped girl. Ronit Roy as a cop and Surveen Chawla as a model played well it the plot.
Analysis :
Rahul Bhatt as an unemployed man who missed/lost his wife and daughter in search of brilliant position in Bollywood played well and Tejaswi Kolhapure played as battered wife and mother of a kidnapped girl child emotionally and effectively. On the other hand Surveen Chawla played a model role who keeps on changing partners for money and pleasures. Ronit Roy as Shoumik Bose, a Cop who is investigating the kidnap case did well and he can be seen indifferent to the people he loves the most.
Ugly is simple, Hard hitting and Dark movie which gives touching and mind blowing message to the people who leaves personal relations and belongings for various pleasures and reliefs.
Ugly is not a regular/routine way of Anurag Kashyap’s political, Social issues. It is hard hitting and message oriented.
Performance :
Ronit Roy, Rahul Bhatt, Tejaswi Kolhapure and Surveen chawla met the standards of Anurag kashyap. Though the movie looks dark and loses regular music, entertainment and story it could able to show the Ugly nature of the human beings.
Final Word:
Ugly shows the ego and jealous of human beings but gives message to many.
