Shruti Haasan is all excited about her forthcoming Telugu film Gabbar Singh alongside Power Star Pawan Kalyan. Gabbar Singh is the official remake of Bollywood movie Dabangg and Shruti Haasan is reprising the role of Sonakshi Sinha in the original.

The actress, who is currently in Pollachi shooting for the first schedule of Gabbar Singh — the Telugu remake of Dabangg, is thrilled that she gets to play a village belle, something she’s never done before. With playing the urban lass in all her films across various languages, this role has all the obvious reasons to get her excited.

Gabbar Singh is being directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Ganesh Babu under Parameswara Arts banner. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director.
