One UI 8 Update coming for Samsung Galaxy S25 Series

Samsung shared news this week about the worldwide launch of One UI 8, and the Galaxy S25 series is the first group of smartphones from the company to get the update based on Android 16. Soon after the announcement, users of the Galaxy S25 series in India began mentioning that they received the Android 16 update. Recent posts on social media show that the update includes the security patch for September. This update is about 4GB in size and introduces various AI features such as Call Captions and advancements to Now Brief. Users on platforms like Reddit and X, which was previously known as Twitter, are stating that Samsung has started distributing the One UI 8 update for Galaxy S25 series phones in India. The One UI 8 update is expected to include firmware versions S938BXXU5BY13, S938BOXM5BY13, and S938BXXU5BY13.

Currently, the One UI 8 update is being rolled out to users in the beta channel and will likely be available for all users in the country soon. This update is based on Android 16 and includes the most recent security patch from September 2025. Screenshots provided by users show that the update size is 4188.04MB. It enhances Galaxy AI features, adding the call captions function that changes voices into text during calls. It also improves the Portrait Studio and provides personalized everyday updates about traffic, key reminders, and Samsung Moments to Now briefs. There might be solutions for several known problems as well. Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra devices in India that qualify will automatically get the One UI 8 update. Users who want to check for the update can go to Settings, then Software update, and finally Download and install. It's recommended that users install the update while connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and that their device is charged during the process.

This week, Samsung has started distributing One UI 8, beginning with the Galaxy S25 series. The update is confirmed to reach flagship models that are one year old later this year, such as the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S24 FE.

The newest devices, including the Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, are being released with One UI 8 already installed.
