The new variant of coronavirus is slowly making its impact in some of the nations of the globe. The new variant BA.2.12.1 is responsible for the fourth wave of Covid-19 in USA told a recent study. The experts say that the new variant is not showing any signs of decline. Covid-19 emerged two years ago and the new cases are still being reported across the globe. Some of the experts say that the virus has weakened and the people are recovering at a faster note. The new variant BA.2.12.1 is detected in Australia, New Zealand, USA and South Africa. The investigation says that the new variant is 25 percent more transmissible than the BA.2 subvariant.

This is revealed in a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Washington Post reported that the SARS-CoV-2 repeatedly changed its structure and chemistry. It has enough evolutionary space to explore. The existing vaccinations can reduce the risk of the disease. Jesse Bloom, a computational biologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle told that the spread is happening at a faster rate and there is a need for the vaccinations to be updated soon. There are lot of new variants and sub-variants reporting in the market frequently. The other mutations BA.4 and BA.5 are traced in South Africa recently.
