Actor Ronit Roy is a known face in the Indian Television. He had to struggle at the beginning of his career, the start was not easy for him but he didn’t give up on life or his dreams.

He spoke about being unemployed for four years after debut film JaanTere Naam and he wants to tell people not to give up even if they are facing the most difficult time financially.

He earned this position the hard way. Now he is famous and at present coming in Ekta Kapoor’s web series Kehne Ko Humsafar Season 3. He has been acting for 20 plus years now.

While having a chat with Times of India, he said, after his film, JaanTere Naam that was a blockbuster and like a Silver Jubilee of that time is like a 100-crore film now went awesome for him. After that, for the next 6 months he didn’t receive a single call and got work that didn’t fit into his requirements but he continued doing it for three years.

“My first film was released in 1992 JaanTere Naam which was a blockbuster. It was a silver jubilee and silver jubilee of that day means Rs 100 crore movie of today. My debut film was of that level. 1992 it released and for the next six months, I did not receive a single call. Then I got all kinds of trashy work which I did for three years and around 96 all the work dried up.”

Further, after doing a Silver Jubilee movie, he had to depend on his mother for four years to get a single meal. He gives his own example and tells TV stars not to take extreme decisions.

He believes that killing oneself due to financial issues is never a solution.

“I did not kill myself. I am not passing judgement on anybody. Everyone at some point in their life faces a financial crisis. I feel if you are facing a financial crisis then killing yourself is not a solution. I don’t see any sense in taking your life because that can’t be a solution,” he said.

He expressed his feelings after two TV actors Manmeet Grewal and Preksha Mehta committed suicide due to unemployment and financial problems.

Besides, producers have not been able to pay many other TV actors and crew. Sadly, the cast and crew of Humaari Bahu Silk were not being paid their dues during the lockdown and they threatened to commit suicide.
