Washington:
Elite Indian group in US have launched a national campaign in retaliation to Immigration Reforms by White House. Mass Green Card backlog is affecting nearly 300,000 highly skilled Indian workers. With the current regular a skilled Indian would be required to wait anywhere between 25-92 years for a Green Card sanction as the country limits are set up. The newly formulated group called the GRReforms.org would create awareness about this backlog.

"We not only support the physician groups involved in the immigration issues but also supports a fair green card allocation process for engineers and other professionals that are caught up in the quandary," said GcReforms.org president Sampat Shivangi.

"I Strongly Support the Cause," said Ved Nanda, Professor at University of Denver Sturm college of law, in a statement issued by GCReforms.org.

Kiran Kumar Thota, one of the founding members of GCReform.org stated, “Green Card delays need to be eliminated as this slows down American innovation and job creation”

"Many bright individuals who are hardworking and self- driven are always under stress to keep the same job role," said Rishi Bhutada, director at Hindu American foundation.

“The contributions of skilled immigrants to America and their issues need better understanding and recognition across America, coming together of the Green Card Reforms is a great initiative in that direction," said Prakash Wadhwa, creator of From The Land Of Gandhi Film on Green Card backlog.

Many skilled Indians working at Fortune 500 companies have to wait for decades until they are approved a Green Card which causes a great deal discomfort and cripples their professional and personal lives too. 100% of these workers are legal immigrants who are already hired and working for big conglomerates. Many from them have advanced degrees from US Universities and contributing hugely to the US Economy.

GCReforms.org states, “We seek to raise awareness of the unintended consequences of per country limits and inspire congress to pass legislation to clear the green card backlog enabling more skilled workers to support the US Economy”

They have also stated their solutions as eliminating per country limits, recapturing unused visas and enact a fair merit based system. They also stated that US only imparts 8% of employment based Green Cards to skilled workers which is very low for a developed country.

They have asked people to Join the Movement by writing #BreaktheBacklog #Employmentbasedgreencards; share, engage, educate and act
