Donald Trump on comparing him to Hitler

It’s widely recognized that Donald Trump excels in political performances and loves to draw attention. This was evident during the recent G7 Summit when he awkwardly declared to many world leaders, "I am in charge. " On Thursday, just hours after finalizing a temporary peace agreement with Iran, Trump posted a document by a so-called "presidential historian" that likened his impact to that of several infamous leaders, including Adolf Hitler, Genghis Khan, Mao, and Stalin. However, a new book about Trump, scheduled for release next week, has revealed a surprising detail. Although Trump may have only recently shared this document, he actually showed it to two reporters from the New York Times during an interview back in March. This story has been documented by the two journalists, Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, in their upcoming book 'Regime Change,' according to a CNN report.

On Thursday, Trump uploaded the two-page document to Truth Social. He wrote beneath the post, "Presidential Historian Dave King - Looks good to me! " During his chat with the NYT reporters, Trump mentioned that he got it from the "historian" at an event celebrating Hall of Fame golfer Gary Player. Basically, the document suggested that, unlike Trump, other notable figures such as Hitler and Stalin, "no matter how frightening" they were in their time, lacked global influence. In Trump's view, that document held significant weight. Interestingly, JD Vance had called Trump "America's Hitler" in 2016 long before he became vice president. The unusual US President presented the document when reporters inquired about the power he had in his second term and where he fit in history. However, when the reporters dug into who Dave King was, they were surprised to learn he wasn’t actually a historian, but rather Gary Player’s long-time caddy and assistant. In fact, many might confuse him with David King, a best-selling author for the New York Times and a historian from Harvard.

The Dave King mentioned by Trump is not a historian. In fact, as reported by the Daily Beast, he doesn’t even hold a college degree. This 70-year-old is a businessman who emigrated from Scotland to live in South Africa. In Trump’s world, such stretching of the truth and exaggerations are common. King informed the reporters that he initially shared his views with Player and later presented them to Trump during a game of golf. CNN has noted that this event is described in the book. The book, called Regime Change, provides a straightforward insider’s look at the first year of Trump’s turbulent second term. In the past year, the unpredictable and often unreliable Trump has exerted his will with few limitations, creating turmoil in international markets through his tariffs and engaging in conflicts at his discretion.

In his evaluation, King stated that "powerful" figures such as Alexander, Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun, and Hitler were known for their "violent conquests" and the "fear they created" during their rules. King added that Trump’s impact is much larger due to technology and global networks. "The main difference between Trump and the figures mentioned is that they didn’t have a worldwide influence. Their power was limited to smaller regions," the document explained. The document also highlights the economic power that Trump can assert, referring to his harsh imposition of tariffs. However, in reality, the US Supreme Court has nullified these tariffs. The book, which is set to come out next week, also discusses Trump’s decision to engage in conflict with Iran and his quirky lifestyle habits, like gold decorations in the Oval Office. Are you aware of Trump’s late-night snack preferences? Or his carpeted bathroom? These details are also included in the book.
