Xiaomi 17 to Be Available in New 1TB Storage Variant

Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 17 in China on Thursday, along with the Xiaomi 17 Pro series and Xiaomi Pad 8 series, which come with HyperOS 3 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The following day, the company launched a new version of the phone with different RAM and storage options, set to be available for purchase next week. The Xiaomi 17 is equipped with triple rear cameras tuned by Leica and features a 7,000mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The phone has an IP68 rating, meaning it’s resistant to dust and water. Xiaomi shared a post on Weibo on Thursday announcing a new option for the Xiaomi 17 with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. This new model is priced at CNY 5,299, which is approximately Rs. 65,900, and will be available in China starting October 5. This new version will be sold alongside existing options of 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB RAM and storage configurations of the Xiaomi 17, which are already available in China. The phone comes in several color options: Black, Ice Melting Blue, Snow Mountain Powder, and White.

The Xiaomi 17 runs on HyperOS 3 and has a 6.3-inch 1.5K OLED display with a resolution of 1,220×2,656 pixels, supporting a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and brightness up to 3,500 nits. It operates on Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, combined with up to 16GB of RAM and a maximum of 1TB of storage. For photography, it has a Leica-tuned triple rear camera system, featuring a 50-megapixel primary Light Fusion 950 sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide-angle sensor. For selfies and video calls, its front camera also has 50 megapixels. The device is powered by a 7,000mAh battery that supports both 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Additionally, it boasts an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water.
