Russia's invasion on Ukraine continued from the past two weeks. Lakhs of people had to leave Ukraine to save their lives and the Indian government evacuated the Indian students and working professionals in Ukraine recently. On Friday, the Mayor of Ukraine's Melitopol was kidnapped by the Russian troops who occupied the city. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenksy told this in a press conference. He said that a group of ten occupiers kidnapped the mayor Ivan Fedorov. He was taken after he was spotted at the Crisis Centre and he refused to cooperate with the troops. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenksy confirmed about his kidnap in a video release. He said that this is a sign of weakness of the invaders.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenksy called it a crime against democracy. Russian invaders are like the Islamic State Terrorists told Zelenksy. The video of the Mayor's kidnap was posted by Kirillo Timoshenko, the deputy head of Ukraine’s presidential administration. The video showed soldiers coming out of a building and holding a man who is dressed in black and he was covered with a black bag. Another regional officer was kidnapped days ago and he was released. USA announced that they would not have any ties with Russia or its goods as they will have to pay their price for the invasion of Ukraine. "Putin will pay the price" told American President Joe Biden in his speech at the White House.
