The plea for assistance from an Indian student who was assaulted by robbers in Chicago was captured in a video where he could be seen bleeding profusely. Concerned about the incident, his family in Hyderabad has appealed to the government to allow his wife to travel to the US. Syed Mazahir Ali, in the video, was bleeding from his nose and mouth as he desperately begged for help. Syeda Ruquliya Fatima Rizvi, his wife, has written a letter to Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, urging him to ensure that her husband receives proper medical treatment.

Expressing her concern for her husband's safety and security in Chicago, USA, the letter requests assistance in obtaining the best medical care for him. Furthermore, she asks for arrangements to be made so that she can accompany her three young children to the US to be by her husband's side. Syed Mazahir Ali was pursuing a master's degree at Indiana Wesleyan University. CCTV footage captured the moment when he was chased by three attackers near his Chicago residence. In the video, Mr Ali can be heard saying, "Four individuals assaulted me as I was returning home. I slipped near my house and they proceeded to kick and punch me. Please, brother, help me. Please help me."

Following a series of unfortunate incidents, four Indian-origin students have tragically lost their lives in the United States this year. Last week, 19-year-old Shreyas Reddy Beniger, an American passport holder, was discovered deceased, though authorities have determined that no foul play was involved. Similarly, Neel Acharya, a student at Purdue University, was found dead on campus shortly after his mother reported him missing. Vivek Saini, a 25-year-old student from Haryana, was unfortunately killed by a homeless individual in Lithonia, Georgia on January 16. In January, Akul Dhawan, another Indian student, was discovered deceased near the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
